Smart Club Express will become Extra and Mega

The managing director of Coop, Svein Fanebust, reviled today that two Smart Club Express stores will be re-branded to Coop Extra, and that a third, located at Bislett in Oslo will become Coop Mega.
The rest will be “food temples” with a broad variety and a focus on fresh products, especially fruits and vegetables. If these stores will be re-branded as Coop Obs! Hypermarked or something else, Fanebust made no comment of. The Smart Club at Alnabru will become a sort of laboratory for testing and new concepts and categories. Coop increased its market share by 1.1 percent to 24.9 percent by buying Smart Club. In Oslo and the region of Akershus where Coop desperately needs a bigger market share, it increased more than five percent.
